Douglas Lambert MD, MPH graduated from University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed residency at Montefiore Medical center; and fellowships in general internal medicine and obesity medicine at Northwell Health and Hofstra University. He currently works as a clinical researcher and obesity medicine physician at Northwell Health. Dr. Lambert has published research detailing the risk of anion gap metabolic acidosis among patients with metabolic syndrome and normal kidney function. His continued research interests include studying lifestyle interventions for weight loss; and examining the causes and consequences of anion gap metabolic acidosis in metabolic diseases. Together with Dr. Jamie Kane, Dr. Lambert has designed, and is currently running a pilot study at Northwell examining the weight loss benefits of a remotely-delivered educational program promoting "Plant-Forward" dietary changes and mindfulness meditation.

Jamie Kane, MD is the Director of Northwell Health’s Center for Weight Management, assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and Chief of its section of Obesity Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and an MD from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine prior to completing his residency training in Internal Medicine at Yale University. Dr. Kane has previously held faculty positions at Yale University and New York University in addition to creating multiple obesity medicine programs. He brings 10 years of clinical expertise to the Center for Weight Management in both university and private practice settings. He has long been passionate about chronic disease prevention and strongly believes individuals and communities, with the help of caring trained professionals, can make powerful changes critical to overall health and well-being.
