About the event
Jessica Williams, MD, FAAP is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her medical degree at University of Connecticut School of Medicine and her pediatric residency at University of Chicago. She practiced for a decade in primary care in underserved communities and as a teaching physician before she specialized in Obesity medicine. She now works with children, teens and young adults in the Obesity division at Connecticut Children's where she cares for patients in the medical and Bariatric tracks of the team in their ASMBS Center for Excellence accredited program. She also had a passion for health care information technology and has earned her Clinical Informatics board certification and serves as the Medical Director for the CI team at Connecticut Children's.
Darlene Abbate, APRN is a nurse practitioner at Connecticut Children's Hospitals in the Division of Primary Care, the Hartford Regional Lead treatment Program and the Weight Management Program at Connecticut Children's. She taught in the UCONN Nursing Program for 12 years and has served as event chair, secretary and President of the Connecticut chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
