About the event

Holly Lofton, MD is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the New York University Langone Medical Center. She served on the bariatric medicine committee for the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, as well as on the advisory board and board of directors for the Obesity Action Coalition. She designed the New Youâ„¢ program to help people obtain results while learning about incorporating nutrition into a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Lofton is a principal investigator on several obesity pharmacotherapy trials and her research interests include weight regain after bariatric surgery, polycystic ovary syndrome, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. She educates students, residents, and fellows at NYU School of Medicine in diagnostic and treatment techniques for people with obesity. She also serves as the medical director of the NFL Alumni Wellness Challenge.

Sindhura Kolli, MD is a hospitalist at Northwell Health. She has completed a Clinical Obesity fellowship at NYU and is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She has written multiple textbook chapters, magazine articles, published research, and given grand round lectures on topics within obesity and gastroenterology for clinicians. In 2021, she was awarded the Naomi Nakao Gender Based Research Award by the American College of Gastroenterology for her work on NAFLD and PCOS and contributed to Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg's NYT's bestseller, Lean In: For Graduates. Besides serving as co-director for the Program Committee for the Tristate Obesity Society, she continues to educate people within the hospital and in underserved communities about the importance of prevention of chronic medical conditions.
